About Molly Adams

Molly Adams lives and works in New Orleans, Louisiana, Growing up in Southern Louisiana deeply influenced her work, as she primarily paints and draws scenes from the swamp. Her artwork captures the unique beauty and mystique of the Louisiana wetlands, bringing to life the vibrant ecosystems and haunting landscapes that surround her.

She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in sociology. Initially pursuing a Ph.D. in sociology at the University of Georgia, she left to dedicate her life to art. Currently, she is an MFA candidate in painting at the University of New Orleans.

Her work has been recognized with several accolades, including winning the second place Tolmas Prize at Innovate UNO for her installation, Heavy. She has completed a residency at the Mount Gretna School of Art, where she discovered a love for landscape painting. Her work has been exhibited at Future Gallery and Tila Studios Gallery in Atlanta, GA, as well as Highside Workshop in Brooklyn, NY. Additionally, a selection of her paintings and drawings was shown in Santa Rosa, CA, for a group exhibition benefiting United Against Sexual Oppression. She won a juried exhibition, From My Perspective, at the Virginia Beach Arts Center.
